Presentation is cardboard portfolio with unbound contents consisting of beautifully printed color plates showing a range of 19th century textiles from the Soviet Union, Tartar and Armenian (central asian) republics, including clothing and tapestries, rugs, etc. According to the text, the portfolio was produced to accompany the handicrafts exhibited at the Soviet Pavillion of the Exposition des Arts Decoratifs (Paris 1925). Contents: Title page, single page of text in French describing the plates , followed by 40 sheets of gray art paper with color plates pasted on. and black borders with titling. Condition: spine of portfolio is separated and could be retaped, string tie is vestigial. Board covers are soiled and back lower corner is chipped. Pasted on title on cover in red and black is quite presentable. Contents are good; but the mounts are a little yellowed at edges and a few are edgeworn. One plate is missing entirely. $150.00
